3D Work

I'm interested in a lot of aspects of computing, around 1990 I was a big fan of the Amiga computer and I messed around a lot with 3d-rendering programs like Lightwave by Newtek. I did this together with my good friend Tjarko, who I knew from skateboarding. I actually never really kept any lightwave work, but I got the chance to do some 3d work again on the multimediacourse I took. We used 3d studio max for modeling, texturing and lighting. The result of this is below.

Quake 2 custom models

A project that took a lot of Photoshop skills, but is really a 3d-project is the making of some custom Quake II skins. Being fascinated by First-person shooters we started playing Quake II quite heavily. After a while we wanted to use our own personal models to use in the game. This way we could identify opponents immediately and it made the whole Quake II experience a lot more fun. These quake II skins are self-extracting ZIP-files, put them in your " quake2\baseq2\players\male " - directory and then execute the zipfiles in there. After you extracted them, you can delete the .EXE files. The male model in QuakeII will now have extra 'looks' (configure them under the 'multiplayer - player' setup menu in QuakeII). These figures only make sense if you have access to some form of multiplayer game, so through a local (LAN) network or the Internet, else you can't see eachother so there's not much fun. The figures aren't perfect yet, the Erik-figure still has some pixels that are too light, but hey. So here they are, in no particular order;

erik Erik (Lord Rico Suave)

chris Chris (Lord Unclean)
